The words we use, in plain English.
The technology comes with a lot of jargon. Here are the words that matter, and how to say them in a meeting.
Context layer
Also called the semantic layer. It holds what your business means: what things are, how they relate and the rules that apply. AI reads it before it answers.
AI can't read heads. This gives it your definitions, so it stops guessing.
Ontology
A written-down map of what things are in your business and how they relate.
It's the knowledge in your best people's heads, written down so a machine can use it.
Lineage
The trail from an answer back to its source, the rule applied and what changed.
Every number can show where it came from.
Governance
Agreed rules on who can see what and how data may be used, carried with the data.
The rules travel with the data, so audit evidence comes as a by-product.
Grounded answer
An answer built from your own definitions that shows its evidence.
